US Forces Search for WMD
As US and British troops make their way north through Iraq, some have begun to ask why the forces have not found Iraq's WMD. This apparently assumes that Iraq would leave WMD facilities where coalition forces would most likely pass and discover them. This is highly unlikely. It would also be unwise to have coalition forces search primarily for WMD as they move north as the Iraqi forces are unlikely to sit back and just watch them search for WMDs.
The most effective approach to find Iraq's WMD is to wait until the Iraqi regime has been removed at which time Iraqi scientists would be much more willing to talk and provide information about the location of WMD labs and storage facilities. This would be the most prudent approach and safest means of discovering, cataloging and ultimately destroying Iraq's WMD and put the least risk to US and British forces at this time. Any journalist wishing to walk through Iraq searching for WMD, at this time, are more than welcomed to do so at their own risk!
