The Gore mantra
The Gore mantra lately has been "count all the votes" (in Florida). All the votes should be counted. What he's having his lawyers do in Nassau county is exactly the opposite. There his lawyers are trying to get the courts to NOT count 200 perfectly legal votes. Why you might ask? Because if he can get them thrown out, he gains 51 votes on George Bush. What is the basis of this lawsuit? It seems that election night all votes were counted. When the statewide recount occurred, the county inadvertently didn't count 200 votes and didn't notice until it was too late to include them. When it came time to turn in the certified counts on November 26th, Nassau county decided the best thing to do was to certify the election night count because it included the missed 200 votes. Gore's team of lawyers are trying to force the county to use the recount totals so that Gore gains the 51 votes.
I guess what Al Gore is really saying is "count all the [Gore] votes". We just can't hear the 'Gore' part each time he repeats it.
