Removing Saddam Hussein

There has been talk in Washington and in many national publications concerning the Bush's administration's plans to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq. Some lead us to believe that an attack by the US is imminent.

Saddam Hussein is primarily a threat to his neighbors in the Middle East. He has the means to deliver biological, chemical or nuclear weapons to any of these countries with the missiles he has.But most of his neighbors have expressed no interest in being part of an attack on Iraq to remove Hussein or to provide bases from which to mount the attack. Saddam Hussein is only a threat to the US if he were to provide biological, chemical or nuclear weapons to terrorists.

If Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Jordan and the like are not concerned about Saddam Hussein, then the United States should consider pulling all of its troops out of Saudi Arabia and letting Middle Eastern countries deal with Saddam themselves. If the Middle East isn't concerned about threats from Hussein, then the US shouldn't be concerned for their safety either.
