Lawsuit Against McDonald's

Lawyers have filed a class-action lawsuit against McDonald's on behalf of New York children who have suffered health problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.

In federal court in Manhattan on Wednesday November 20th, a lawyer alleged that the fast-food chain has created a national epidemic of obese children. Samuel Hirsch argued that the high fat, sugar and cholesterol content of McDonald's food is "a very insipid, toxic kind of thing" when ingested regularly by young kids. The plaintiffs include a Bronx teen who ate every meal at McDonald's for three years while living in a homeless shelter. Another is a 13-year-old boy from Staten Island who says he ate at McDonald's food three to four times a week and is now 5-foot-4 and 278 pounds.

When will this foolishness end. People can choose to eat whatever they want from an array of fast (and not so fast) food chains. To blame a fast food provider because some kids choose to eat at McDonald's on a daily basis is just another example of lawyers run amok hoping to try and generate cash at the expense of perceived "deep pockets". This isn't like smoking which is addictive. Eating at McDonald's may be tasty, but it can in no way be considered to be addictive.

Samuel Hirsch's license to practice law in the State of New York should be reviewed as he has chosen to waste the court's time with a completely frivolous lawsuit. An example should be made of this idiot lawyer (oops - I'm repeating myself) to deter others from wasting the judicial system's time with inane lawsuits of this type.
