Combating Terrorists
Eliminating terrorists should start with Osama Bin Landen and his minions in Afghanistan. The United States should use satellite imaging and high altitude surveillance flights to indentify training bases in Afghanistan and "carpet bomb" the training facilities. Since terrorists train in groups and not as individuals, they should be relatively easy to identify and eliminate. Eliminating Bin Laden himself would require knowledge of his whereabouts and a elite team of US agents dropped into Afghanistan. As for the Taliban, two options are available. Pinpoint cruise missile bombing of the Taliban leaders could be done or as an alternative, destroy their military munitions in an attempt to weaken the Taliban and make them succeptible to attacks by their opposition in the north.
To limit ourselves to only Osama Bin Laden organization is short-sighted and satellite imaging and high altitude surveillance flights should again be used to identify other terrorist group's training bases and eliminate their recruits as well. Pinpoint cruise missile bombing should be used to detroy assets of any individuals supporting terrorism.
