Bush's Axis of Evil

During President George Bush's state of the union address, he described North Korea, Iran and Iraq as the "Axis of Evil". Iran for its support of Palestinian terrorists, Iraq for its constant attempt to produce nuclear and biological weapons and North Korea for its sale of military weapons to countries likely to use them against others.

I find the term "Axis of Evil" not particularly descriptive (similar to his use of the word "evil" in a great many of Bush's speeches). But if I were to select three countries whose policies are a detriment to other countries around the globe, these three would be at the top of my list. The South Koreans are complaining loudly because their main objective is to unite the families living in North and South Korea at any cost. The fact that any South Koreans believe one country could be formed of North and South Korea, at this time, is a bit insane - therefore their protests against North Korea being labeled as being evil.
Iran supports terrorist attacks in the Middle East and is currently arming dissidents in Afghanistan, making bringing peace to that country all the more difficult.
Saddam Hussein looks to become the power broker of the Arab States and feels a nuclear weapon would place him in just such a position. Hussein could blackmail any Arab country with the threat of nuclear annihilation behind his threat.

So are these three countries an "Axis of Evil"? Most certainly. But I would prefer a more meaningful phrase such as "Merchants of Death".
